Mardea is a recent graduate who studied chemistry, anthropology, and biology earning her a triple degree, a Bachelor of Science in a short amount of time for such an intense course load. She attended Lehman College in New York and had previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Art, Dynamic Media at the School of Visual Arts. Having a keen interest in investigating and researching, Mardea began her journey by actually obtaining a certificate in private investigations, from there she would pursue research mainly pertaining to ethnography and then follow the writings of geneticist in several areas of interest before taking the institutional route. She is looking forward to utilizing all her tools in art, history, social science and biology (specifically genetics) through the lenses of Anthropology to present her findings or in layman's term, to tell the necessary stories. She is focused on sharing the beauty of the Mother Land with primarily Africa's children, the African diaspora, and then the world. Join her on this exciting journey by viewing her previous or current studies and contacting her if such opportunities or professional and purposeful associations should arise.
Currently, Mardea is utilizing her research skills with Ascension 180. She is also a successful educator. Her approach ensures that each student approaches life as a world citizen; they explore and find their voices by tapping into their own unique and valuable intelligence and potential. Some of her steam workshops occurred frequently at (BPL) Brooklyn's Public Library and also had raving results and reviews with Scholastic Awards. She later served as Supervisor for the Explorer's R&D program at the Smallest Mollusk Micro Museum in New York City and was formerly affiliated with The Metropolitan Museum of Art and San Diego's Museum of Natural History. Some great accomplishments include working directly with the artifacts of the Dead Sea Scroll's exhibit and also handling the artifacts of the legendary Pompeii. Both were record breaking (at their time) as highly frequented and anticipated exhibits.
